MAT The Basics Hand Knotted Rug - Style 2002

Hand Knotted Indo-Tibetan 100 Knots in semi-worsted New Zealand wool and viscose. 70% wool, 10% cotton, 20% viscose. 1/2 inch pile height. Made in India.

Hand knotted rugs are woven by skilled artisans and are the most time intensive to create. Knotting is done on a vertical loom. The Tibetan knot is formed when the yarn is tied around the warp threads and a temporary rod. When the row of knots is completed and has been tightened, the rod can either be pulled out, creating loops, or be cut out, creating a pile.
